Q-How do I measure the screw hole pattern?
Do not measure diagonally crossing the center rivet. Exact is not necessary since the slot is elongated and a screw can be placed anywhere.
(5 1/4" mounting screw hole patterns are an industry standard for most swivels.)
- Measure from about the middle of an elongated slot to the same place on the next slot.
- Measure from the center of one screw to the center of another screw.
- Measure the screw distance by placing a ruler on the edge of one screwhead and measure to the same edge on an adjacent screw.
Q-My old swivel is different!
- Our entire inventory is shown.
Q-My old swivel screw hole pattern measures differently than yours,
- Drill a new screw hole as needed.
Q-I don't know if I need Flat or Tilted.
- If there is no back, it is Flat.
(Not all Kitchen chairs, Dining chairs or Bar stools with a back are necessarily tilted, although many are.)
- 1. From a distance, crouch down to see if the seat bottom appears to be flat to the floor.
- 2. Look at all 4 swivel sides to see if the plates appear equal in distance to each other. If so, it's flat.
- 3. Set a 18"-36" straight edge on top of a removed swivel to observe if flat or tilted.
- 4. If 2 of the plate mounting hole corners are stepped downward, it's tilted.
Q- What if I buy the wrong swivel or it doesn't fit?
Q-My new swivel won't turn!
- New swivels will not be as easy to turn as your old worn out swivel. Swivels out of the package are difficult to turn by hand until mounted. This is perfectly normal and is not a defect! New swivels will require a short break in period before turning freely...just as your old swivel did when it was new.
Q-What about swivel maintenance?
- No maintenance is necessary. Swivel bearings have been pre lubricated at the factory.
